Explore the history of Osaka Castle

Osaka Castle is one of the most popular sightseeing spots and the symbols of Osaka. This castle contains thirteen structures which have been designated as the Important Cultural Assets by the Japanese government.
The Osaka Castle was built in 1583 as a display of power, using, it's said, the labour of 100,000 workers.

Firstly, you will be walking through Osaka Castle Park while seeing different kinds of flowers and trees. The scenery changes from season to season. You can enjoy beautiful cherry blossom trees during the 'Sakura' season, as well as autumn colored leaves!

You can also walk into the Osaka Castle Museum in which historical materials and dioramas are displayed. After learning the history of the Osaka Castle, you can go up to the observation deck and get the panoramic view of the Osaka Castle Park and the Osaka plain!

Kuromon Market

Traditional Japanese market offering different foods with a great choice of seafood. The market has a total length of close to 600 meters with 170 shops, the vast majority of which specialize in the freshest and best quality meat, vegetables, eggs and other ingredients from around the country and abroad.

People living in the area have strong preferences for choosing what they eat. They often come to the market to do their shopping, including buying products, fish, clothes and shoes, gadgets, and all sorts of other things available. Walk through the market and feel the atmosphere of the "Kitchen of Japan"!

Dotonbori, a world famous food district!

Dotonbori is another must see sight in Osaka. There are lots of restaurants that you can enjoy local food of Osaka, including Takoyaki, Okonomiyaki, Kushiage, and so on.

Brightly colored advertisements and shining neon signs are one feature of Osaka. Take a picture in front of the Glico running man, one of the most well known landmarks!

South of the canal is a pedestrianised street that has dozens of restaurants, shining neon lights for attention with the flashiest of signage.
